Technique Tuesday 5.15.12

A few years ago, I was a part of a Stampin Up! Club, and every month our demonstrator would show us new techniques. One that I just loved was learning how to take paper, embossing powder, and a rubber stamp to make something that looks like metal. I found directions for this technique on the web here.

Here is a card that I made using that technique…

Try it out! I bet you will fall in love with this technique as well.

Organizational Monday

While I like to believe I lead an organized life, I realize many times over that is simply not true. Like this post for example. It was to have been posted yesterday. I completely forgot, and I apologize.

Anyway, one area where I am not at all organized in my scrap life is my ribbon. I have all my ribbon just dumped in a drawer and can’t find anything at all. How do you organize your ribbon? Please share your tips/thoughts with me so I can revamp my dumped in a drawer life!!

PHOTO CHALLENGE DAY

today I’m going to a town where there are a ton of garage sales…I’m not much of a garage saler goer but I don’t miss this one. I hope to find that one special item I must have!!!

today’s photo challenge is to show me something you found at a garage sale, thrift store, on the street or whatever that was a gold mine to you!

I know this is so simple but inking can change the way a layout looks

weather its adding a lot, just a little, around the sides of the paper or just the picture

lets see some inking

As we approach POS’s first birthday, I thought I would share with everyone about who Piece of Scrap really is.
Who are we?
We are just regular women, young and old, who spend a lot of our spare (?) time doing something that we really love to do.
What is it we do?
We are putting our memories, and those of our families and friends, into scrapbooks using photos and journaling.
Where do we do this?
Just about anywhere we can. We go to crops, to friend’s homes, and even in our own homes.
When do we do this?
Some can scrap whenever they want, others have to wait until the kiddies are napping, and still others have to wait until the middle of the night.
Why do we do this?
So that the time and the people will not be forgotten.
